Continuing Education
Through continuing education opportunities, the Idaho Commission for Libraries assists Idaho libraries in building capacity to better serve their clientele. Blended learning opportunities are available to Idaho's public and school library staff who do not have formal library education, with the intent of developing specialized skills and awareness of current and evolving library practices.

Able ProgramThe free, online Alternative Basic Library Education (ABLE) Program provides basic library knowledge and skills for staff members who have no formal education in library science. |

Sable ProgramThe free, online Supplemental Alternative Basic Library Education program. This program is a supplement to the ABLE courses; however, they are not tied to the completion of the ABLE courses. |

WebJunction CoursesThe WebJunction Idaho private catalog is available to anyone employed or affiliated with an Idaho publicly-funded library. You must be affiliated with and signed in to Webjunction Idaho to view the private course catalog. |

Free TrainingThese free and low-cost training opportunities include those sponsored by ICfL as well as Lyrasis, WebJunction, Learning RoundTable, and many other professional organizations. A list of free training opportunities is compiled each month and posted on this page. |
