ICfL Commissioner Honored for 25 Years of Volunteering

Commissioner Larry Weeks was honored recently for 25 years of volunteering at the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL). During that time, Weeks has narrated local and regional books for the Idaho Talking Book Service, recording 23 books--including a two-volume, 28-hour recording of the History of Idaho, which took over a year to record.

In January, the Governor’s FY2016 budget recommendation for the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) included our request for a $100,000 permanent increase for Read to Me (RTM) Mini-Grants for more elementary school libraries to increase convenient access to quality, age-appropriate books for young children.

New Technical Records Specialist at the Commission

Baxter Q. Andrews joined the Idaho Commission for Libraries staff in December as our Technical Records Specialist. She has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, 15 years of experience as a paralegal, and a wide-ranging background in data gathering and record keeping.

As 2015 approaches, the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) is preparing for another year of helping libraries build the capacity to better serve their clientele. The Commission supports Idaho libraries in a variety of ways, by:
• maintaining online resources at LiLI.org available to Idahoans at a huge savings through our statewide contracts.

ICfL Welcomes New Eastern Idaho Field Consultant
