Good news: The Governor signed the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) FY2015 appropriation bill (HB 606) on March 26. We are happy to report that ongoing funding for LearningExpress Library has been officially approved.

ICfL Welcomes New Web Developer

Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) begins the new year with a new web developer, welcoming Edgar Correa in early January. Correa, who graduated from Nampa High and attended Boise State University, has been in the web development world since 2001 when he joined HP as a contractor doing web support for a group of internal and external websites.

ICfL FY2015 Budget Enhancement Request

The FY2015 budget request submitted by the Board of Library Commissioners includes two line items (enhancements, or above maintenance level). If approved by the 2014 Legislature, the funding will be available as of July 1, 2014.

The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) Board of Commissioners visited six libraries in north Idaho in October. The Board tours libraries annually, choosing a different area of the state each year.

Celebrating Idaho’s Literary Heritage at the National Book Festival in D.C.

The Idaho Commission for Libraries celebrated Idaho’s literary heritage at the 13th annual National Book Festival. The Festival, sponsored by the Library of Congress, was held Saturday and Sunday, September 21‒22, 2013 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. An estimated 200,000 attendees explored the Festival, which featured authors, poets, illustrators, and a variety of pavilions. The U.S.

New Commissioner at ICfL

Pat Raffee, Kootenai County Chief Deputy Clerk, has been appointed by the Governor’s Office to the Idaho Commission for Libraries Board of Library Commissioners for a five-year term ending June 30, 2018. Raffee, who lives in Post Falls, fills the position on the Board that represents northern Idaho and replaces Bruce Noble, who served as the northern Idaho representative for 18 years.
