The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) is very pleased that Tammy Hawley-House joined our staff in December as our reading programs/teen activities coordinator. Hawley-House, who works with the Read to Me and Make It at the Library teams, has worked in public libraries for over 20 years, with most of those years devoted to the service of children and their caregivers.
The Library Leadership Advisory Committee (LiLAC), a collaborative effort between the Idaho Commission for Libraries and the Idaho Library Association, is recruiting new members. This 10-member committee of individuals from all types of libraries and all Idaho geographic areas has made great strides toward cultivating a leadership environment within the Idaho library community.
The Idaho Library Association (ILA) voted to join forces with the American Library Association (ALA) and offer a new membership for Idaho library school students. The Joint Student Membership Program gives students the opportunity to join both ILA and ALA for one low price of $38 a year (a savings of $23 a year).

Idaho Library Snapshot Day is being held during National Library Week, April 10-16, 2016.
What is it? Idaho Library Snapshot Day is designed to capture the impact that Idaho libraries have on their community on a typical day. Snapshot Day is also a great time to collect library user comments and take photos for your website or other promotional materials.
