RFI Statewide Resource Sharing

The Idaho Commission for Libraries is seeking responses to a Request for Information for statewide resource sharing solutions. The purpose is to solicit information from organizations that can provide the services and/or tools for a statewide resource sharing service among Idaho’s libraries.

The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) is very pleased that Tammy Hawley-House joined our staff in December as our reading programs/teen activities coordinator.  Hawley-House, who works with the Read to Me and Make It at the Library teams, has worked in public libraries for over 20 years, with most of those years devoted to the service of children and their caregivers.

The Library Leadership Advisory Committee (LiLAC), a collaborative effort between the Idaho Commission for Libraries and the Idaho Library Association, is recruiting new members. This 10-member committee of individuals from all types of libraries and  all Idaho geographic areas has made great strides toward cultivating a leadership environment within the Idaho library community.

ILA and ALA Offer Joint Membership for Students

The Idaho Library Association (ILA) voted to join forces with the American Library Association (ALA) and offer a new membership for Idaho library school students. The Joint Student Membership Program gives students the opportunity to join both ILA and ALA for one low price of $38 a year (a savings of $23 a year).

The Collection is a new service for Idaho library staff from the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL). It includes content of interest to library staff in the areas of management, leadership, maker spaces, programming, and technical services, and much more.
