Summer Reading Flag Protocol
If you were one of the lucky libraries to receive the Summer Reading Flag as part of your Read for Your Library initiative, here are some guidelines for flying your flag:
- If you have one flag pole – Only fly the U.S., Idaho and MIA flags
- If you have two flag poles—the first (on the left-hand side as you are facing it) is for the U.S. and MIA flags; the second always has the Idaho Flag on top and you can fly your Summer Reading Flag below it.
Don’t have two flag poles? You can display your Summer Reading flag as a banner or pennant (just like the home décor flags) at your library’s entrance. Or ask your city hall or other place of business (with two flag poles) to run yours up under the Idaho flag.
