School Library Access Mini-Grants Application Deadline is Approaching

Our youngest students need lots of books in their school libraries to check out and take home.  School library books allow young students to practice their newly acquired reading skills and they provide an opportunity for families to read together.  Developing a collection for pre-k, kindergarteners and 1st graders can be difficult and expensive, but $5,000 might help!  School Library Access Mini-Grants in amounts up to $5,000 are available to elementary schools from all parts of Idaho.  New Summer Access Mini-Grants of $5,000 are available to schools who have already received a School Library Access Mini-Grant and who want to open the school library for some hours during the summer.

Already received a Mini-Grant? Please tell your school librarian friends about the grant and encourage them to apply!  Their students will love having new fiction and nonfiction books in the library and will be so excited to check them out; even better, they will be excited to READ!

The applications must be postmarked no later than February 24th, so get all the details at http://libraries.idaho.gov/school-access-mini-grants and complete the application today!
