Blog Post Numero Uno

Welcome to the ICFL interactive web world...my first entrance into the realm of blogging with and for librarians....sweet!
Currently reading Little Brother by Cory Doctorow and Micro-EcoFarming by Barbara Berst-Adams. I believe that the topics presented in the two books (privacy, self-sustainable farming) represent a true path to freedom.

Little Brother
I meant to respond to this post last week... busy, busy!
Little Brother is interesting for libraries for another reason too. Cory Doctorow releases everthing he writes as free creative commons eBooks. He believes that giving his books away helps sell his books. If he is right and his idea catches on, what will this mean for libraries? As it is now, libraries can point people with eBook readers to his books. No subscription, no loan period, no DRM.
The book is also a great read. Thought provoking and somewhat frightening to think about!
