Picturing America -- a project of the National Endowment for the Humanities, promotes the teaching, study and understanding of American Art and history. Public, private, parochial, and charter schools and home school consortia and public library systems are invited to apply for a grant that provides a collection of large-scale laminated reproductions depicitng works of American art. We the People Bookshelf on Picturing America provides a collection of classic books for young readers, related to the theme Picturing America.Public and school libraries who apply will be considered for a collection of 17classic books in English and Spanishfor young readers (4,000 recipients).
