Members of SPLAT, the Special Projects Library Action Team (http://splat.lili.org), have refreshed the content from last fall's Splat 101 and are ready to guide you in exploring six technology-based resources. Register for this opportunity to learn how the tools can be used in libraries to provide better service. This self-paced online course will explore the following topics:

Week 1 – Blogging
Week 2 – RSS and RSS Feeders
Week 3 – IM – Meebo
Week 4 – Online Applications
Week 5 – Wikis
Week 6 – Tagging

Participants who complete the six topics and the final evaluation will receive a certificate of completion. Each Monday the weekly mentor will send participants an e-mail with information on how to participate and will be available to answer questions. The first online session starts the week of March 16, 2009. Depending on the your background with the topic, it may take one to three hours to complete the weekly assignments.

Register today and encourage your colleagues to do the same. Registration closes on Wednesday, March 11 at 12 Noon. If you took SPLAT 101 last fall, you are welcome to take it again as a refresher. You can also drop in on individual topics of interest, if that works better for your schedule.

For Teacher-Librarians, this course MAY count toward your professional development in-service credit for certification renewal. For more information see http://libraries.idaho.gov/page/professional-development-credit .

Please spread the word among your colleagues about this continuing education opportunity!
