Summer Reading Manuals Headed Your Way!

Summer Reading Program manuals have been shipped out to every publicly-funded public library in Idaho that submitted their 2013 Summer Reading Report. Manuals are addressed to the library in general and not a specific person, so please keep an eye out and give your mail processing person a heads-up.

Those of you who requested a DVD copy instead of the paper copy should look for a manila envelope. The rest of you should look for a large, thick, white envelope. Each paper copy of the manual also contains three identical DVD copies.

If your computers are unable to load the DVDs, please contact Staci at the info below for a CD copy.

As your state representative, all questions regarding the summer reading program manuals should be directed to me (or Stephanie or Erica) and not to the CSLP office. If you do not receive your package by November 8, please contact me.

In addition to the manual the following important information is included in your package:

  • Cover Letter from Staci, Stephanie, and Erica
  • Bright Futures Outreach information
  • CSLP Rules of Use “Frequently Asked Questions”
  • Summer Reading Program Planning Timeline
  • Handout on Summer Learning Loss
  • Upstart catalog for 2014 CSLP theme
  • New! Upstart catalog for schools and community partners (if you need additional copies just email Staci at the address below)

Additional summer reading program resources and information can be accessed at This site is updated regularly so check back often.

Volunteer libraries with questions about summer reading or program manuals should contact Staci at the info below.

Remember, libraries are NOT allowed to give copies of the program manual (either paper or DVD) to schools or community partners. Your DVD includes a folder containing copyrighted embedded images that you may send to your school and community partners if they wish to use them on their websites or for internal communication/ promotion.
