Money Smart Week @ your library
Money Smart Week @ your library is a national initiative between the ALA and the Federal Reserve Bank (Chicago) to provide financial literacy programming to help community members better manage their personal finances. Libraries of all types participate and
provide programming for all ages and all stages of life on diverse topics such as:
- Basic budgeting
- Managing student debt
- Retirement planning
- Purchasing a home
- Saving money through couponing
- Preventing identity theft
In a recent webinar, ALA and library participants demonstrated some of the successful programs undertaken in previous years. Checkout the website and join the listserv for more ideas and support.
This year's events will take place April 20-27, 2013, but registration is required by January 2, 2013. Libraries can register as a partner here: http://www.moneysmartweek.org/ala. Events do not need to be finalized when registering, but the registration form requests you indicate age group and topics areas to be targeted.
