2011 Summer Reading program
This was a great year! Here are some highlights from the Summer Reading Program (SRP) Reports:
- 71,423 kids participated, an increase of about 2,000 from 2010.
- 99 libraries offered SRPs for kids who are not yet school age
- 105 offered programs for elementary-age kids
- 101 offered programs for teens/tweens
- 108 libraries visited schools in the spring to promote summer reading

Teen Read Week (TRW) a Hit!
Here are some numbers compiled from the Teen Read Week (TRW) Final Reports:
- 22 public school libraries held TRW events
- 30 public libraries held TRW events
- 11 libraries reported being first-time participants in TRW
- Approximately 4,250 tweens and teens attended TRW events (up from 2,500 in 2010
- 35 libraries participated in the Picture It With Posters opportunity and submitted 56 poster/essay projects. Check out their projects at libraries.idaho.gov/files/PosterEssayList20111117Swal.pdf.
