The Pat Carterette Star Award

Last week WebJunction recognized Shirley Biladeau, Continuing Education (CE) Consultant at Idaho Commission for Libraries, with the Pat Carterette Star Award.

Every year, WebJunction recognizes individuals who have been acknowledged by their peers as going above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrating enthusiasm and innovation in the delivery of WebJunction Services. Pat Carterette, CE Coordinator from Georgia, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in October 2010, passed away in January 2011.  Pat was always smiling and enthusiastic, and dreamed big-- a "Renaissance woman"! Shirley and Pat met when Shirley went to Columbus, Ohio for the first WebJunction Administrator training in 2008. Pat and Shirley soon became fast virtual friends and looked to each other for encouragement and ideas, so it is fitting that Shirley receive an award established to keep Pat's dreams alive.
