National Gaming Day Debriefing, or How One Library Hosted a Big Event: in ten installments, Chapter 2

NGD@JPL Rock Band

NGD minus 9 days: Scored the use of three big screen TVs from Central RTO - including delivery and pick-up! Scored the use of consoles from Tournament Town! The owner offered prizes too. :) Add them and volunteers to fliers and print more. Print NGD posters, mount them on card stock and posterboard and staple tear-away fliers to them. Director is printing, mounting, stapling, and delivering these too. She's also contacting people for help and publicity. Use nepotism to get press release info to the right people at the Times-News. Post on Craigslist, post on Channel 11's events webpage.

Score the use of a Wii with Super Smash Bros. Brawl for live National tournament coordinated by Eli of Ann Arbor Public Library District. Score the use of a Wii, Rock Band game, and all of the instruments save one guitar. Also the volunteers to run the Rock Band national high score event. Start asking people in and out of the library if they have a Rock Band Guitar. Asking so many favors that I start popping mints compulsively. Brushing flies away from my coffee cup all day long. Meet with Dungeon Master and learn way too much about Dungeons & Dragons. Still looking for DDR and two pads for Xbox for national high score event. Library teens hike around town hanging fliers where ever they can. At home, share my worries with my family, who tell me that it will be great and they know I can pull it together.
