Idaho Digital Publications

In recognition of the need for a centralized digital repository for the large number of publications produced by state agecies in digital format, the Commission is in the process of implementing suggestions made in the Final Report of the Idaho State Library Task Force: A Study and Recommendations on Idaho State Public Documents.

We implemented a plan to capture and store selected state digital publications.  In order to make these important publications available to the public, we created a searchable full-text database.  This database is growing daily and now contains over 4,000 publications from a variety of agencies.  Click on http://idahodocs.cdmhost.com/.  Go to "Browse" and select "Idaho Digital Publications" from the pull-down menu.  This will show the metadata that has been supplied.  Click on "Access this Item" centered above the metadata and take a look at what we have so far.  You can also perform a search.

In addition, we have arranged to add these state publications to the well-known WorldCat database on a quarterly basis.

We are excited about the possibilities of a cooperative effort between state agencies and the Commission to make these vital digital publications more widely available to the public and to create a digital repository that will serve as a "memory" of the state's business.

At the present time, the state statute Idaho 33-2505 is still in effect.  Details about the state's current state documents depository program can be found in the section on that program.
