Pete Black–ILA Trustee of the Year
Recently retired Idaho Commission for Libraries Commissioner Pete Black was named 2010 Trustee of the year by the Idaho Library Association (ILA).
“online @ your library” update
The Commission was awarded a stimulus grant of $1,907,531 from NTIA for the “online @ your library” Broadband Technology Opportunities Program to expand broadband and computing capacity in Idaho’s least connected libraries.
“online @ your library” launch
The Commission—along with nearly 150 Idaho state leaders, grant partners, and public library directors—launched the “online @ your library” broadband project on November 1 and 2 with a workshop sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
