Impact Study

Way to go librarians!
Over 1,150 responses to letters, emails and ICFL web page requests are in. School librarians (more than 260!) provided some 1,300 principal, administrator, and teacher colleagues names and email addresses. The responses to the survey will help us understand how the school library contributes to the academic achievement of students.
The study was ordered by the Idaho Commission for Libraries and is endorsed by the Idaho State Department of Education. The results of this study will assess the status and impact of school library programs, facilitate discussions about their potential, and support more informed decision-making about their future.
Next Steps
The responses have been formatted for further analysis. The survey will be correlated with post-appeal ISAT data to assess the effect of school library programs. The final report will be out by the end of the year.
The Winners
As promised, those who chose to submit their names were part of a drawing to win an iPod Nano or a Playaway self contained book. The drawings have been made and the winners notified.
Congratulations to:
- Sherrilynn Bair, Snake River School District
