Funding
Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds are Federal funds awarded to the Commission for Libraries from the Institute of Museum and Library Service (IMLS). These funds are governed by the purposes and priorities set forth by the US Congress,in conjunction with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars for allowable uses of Federal funds. The distribution of ICfL's LSTA funds is overseen by the LSTA Advisory Council. Additional information about the LSTA Advisory Council, the evaluation of our current five-year LSTA plan and the new five-year LSTA plan can be found below:
The Commission for Libraries has temporarily suspended the Competitive and Just In Time grant programs due to decreased funding levels. Further information will be provided when these programs will be resumed.
Grant Funding Currently Available:
- Continuing Education Funding - The Commission continues to provide the Continuing Education (CE) grant program for libraries and their staff: Continuing Education Grants Through LSTA
- Read To Me Funding- The Commission was recently awarded a National Leadership Grant through IMLS for a three-year early literacy program title Routes to Reading. The goal of the new Routes to Reading Program is to significantly increase the amount of reading done in Idaho homes and early childhood education settings. To achieve this goal, the Idaho Commission for Libraries will be using National Leadearship Grant and state funds totaling over $300,000 over three years to build three new elements into the successful Read to Me program. Of these new elements, funding for libraries is available through the Books to Go Program.
- eRate Funding - The Commission is committed to assisting libraries in applying for eRate from the federal government. Visit the eRate page for eRate resources and application assistance.
