Early Literacy support materials: brochures, pamphlets, booklets, doorhangers, etc. Order Form

The Bookworm: A monthly early literacy skills newsletter written for parents

The Scoop: A bi-weekly electronic newsletter for youth services librarians

Photo Release Form: Any photographs of children under the age of 18 that will be posted publicly must have an accompanying photo release form on file. This form must be signed by a parent or guardian. Your library may use its own form, as long as it gives permission to post images of minor children.

Early Literacy Centers: Created for librarians to use during parent workshops, family events, or storytimes. Activities for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and early school-age, based on the Six Early Literacy Skills. Instructions for preparation are included on the last page of each document.

Evaluation

Survey for Partners: Data collection tool for libraries to give to their partner organizations for First Book, Every Child Ready to Read, Mini-Grants or other programs.

Evaluation tools for storytime programming.

Evaluation of Read to Me programs, Final Report by Dr. Roger Stewart, Ed.D., August, 2009 and Interim Report, January, 2009.

We also created a chart that shows the results from the 2008-2009 First Book and Every Child Ready to Read (ECRTR) parent surveys.

2009 Read to Me Support Materials Order Form

A limited supply of support materials is available at no charge to Idaho public libraries, schools, and reading partners. First priority for distribution of materials will be to support literacy outreach efforts. Materials are not to be charged for. Quantities are limited and the Commission for Libraries may adjust amounts sent at any time.

The Scoop

The Scoop is a bi-monthly e-mail newsletter containing fun, inspiring, and innovative ideas for library youth services. It is published by Read to Me, a service of the Idaho Commission for Libraries for school and public library staff who are interested in improving services to children and young adults.

Some email systems filter out newsletters as junk mail. If you have trouble subscribing to or receiving the Scoop, please read our list of common solutions.

We welcome contributions to The Scoop from Idaho library staff. Please send ideas, articles and photos to Stephanie Bailey-White or call with suggestions (1-800-458-3271).
