Rethinking Resource Sharing - Participate in the future

As the wide array of library customers (and potential customers) are changing with the times, so much resource sharing.  Our customers are looking for different options for access to and delivery of library materials.  As their needs and demands evolve, libraries are trying to keep up.  On April 19-20th there is an opportunity to participate in the 3rd forum to discuss Rethinking Resource sharing. If you are involved in resource sharing activities, this event might be of interest to you.  We're not talking about just interlibrary loan, but also those related resource sharing activities like remote circulation and delivery.  Time is running out to register, so act quickly.  The Forum will be held in Chicago, April 19-20th.  Registration is just $75 and includes some meals.  Online registration is available on the website at:  www.RethinkingResourceSharing.org    A link to hotel registration
info is there also – our discount room rate is expiring March
30th.
The Forum will include presentations
by Michael Stephens (Tame the Web and Dominican University) and Linda Frueh (Internet
Archive
). There will also be a demonstration of the GET IT prototype (a
web-based plug in for users to give them more options for getting the materials
they want), large group discussions about the future of resource sharing, and
breakout groups for more involved work on the effort.

The Forum promises to be a
stimulating event that will generate concrete results and follow-up activities that will
shake up the resource sharing world – better results than
you’ll see from most meetings you
attend!
