Idaho Barcode Registry Input Form
As Idaho libraries continue to build and expand shared systems and continue to develop statewide library services, it is becoming increasingly important that each Idaho library has a unique and identifiable range of barcodes. Library barcodes traditionally have a set of digits within the barcode that identify the library. This string of 4 numbers can be found in digits 2-5 of the full barcode. (See image for an example). For libraries that use a short barcode (for example, a ten-digit number), the library identifier I usually found in digits 2-3.
The Idaho Commission for Libraries is requesting libraries of all types to submit their library identifier to the Idaho Barcode Registry. To submit your information, fill out the form All information submitted will be collected and posted on the ICFL website as the Idaho Barcode Registry. For additional information about barcodes: All About Library Barcodes.
