For Library Staff
Answers to Your QuestionsIf I don't have Internet access, can I still listen? You need Internet access for the initial download. Libraries may choose to allow downloading at the library where Internet access is available. I only have dial-up Internet access, will that work?Dial-up access works, but the download will take more time than if connected with broadband access to the Internet. How much time will it take for me to learn this?Learning times vary for each individual, but a number of helpful documents and links are available on the LiLI eAudioBook Collection website. How much will this cost when the demonstration project is done?ICFL staff anticipate that cost estimates will be available in late Spring 2008. Can I request a book to be added to the database?NetLibrary welcomes suggestions for content and feedback about the service. Inquires can be sent to publishing@netlibrary.com. If the publishers content fits with the collection development policy, we would determine if there is mutual interest in a partnership, and move forward. I don't have an MP3 player, can I still listen?Yes. Users may listen to books on their personal computer using Windows Media Player version 9.x or higher. This is all new to me, what if I have more questions? For additional questions, contact the OCLC Help Desk at 800-854-5753. What kind of software and memory does my computer need?Technical specifications can be found on the NetLibrary Help Site Can we access this from home?Yes. Users are encouraged to access the service from home. An authentication interface will be set up through the LiLI Portal beginning October 1, 2007.
