Pegasus - Food For Thought

Today the conference finished with a presentation by Peter Senge.  Here are some comments for consideration -- reflect to identify what they mean to you -- If you want to talk about them either email me <shirley.hansen@libraries.idaho.gov. or see me at the office.

  • Identifying networks makes individuals and networks stronger
  • Collaborating Across Boundaries
          Get the System in the Room  (convening)
          See Reality through others’ eyes (suspending)
          Putting our purpose together (commitment)
  • When one human being tells another human being what is real, he/she is making a demand for obedience.
  • React with reality and bring forth a reality
  • Tell your story
  • Free flow of information in multiple collaborative efforts.

Other Thoughts Gathered from the Conference

  • Four quadrants – all viewpoints are correct – how can they work together?
  • How to build the bridge between us and them?  Meet them where their need is!
  • How can we rise above our obstacles and move forward
  • Are you willing to leave what is comfortable for you?
  • Build a community of practice.
  • Trust, talk, observe, act quickly
  • Reality it what you see -- everyone sees reality differently -- respect the diversity.
  • What is keeping you awake at night?
  • What are you willing to talk about?
  • Conversations have the power to change the world.
  • Knowledge is a reflection of who we are, in all our uniqueness.
  • Knowledge is something you create inside yourself through your engagement with the world.
  • Tension can be used to initiate change.
