Idaho Child Care Reads Program Requirements
Librarians selected to participate are required to:
- Conduct at least one training session (a minimum of two to three hours), or a series of training sessions that total at least three hours, aimed at child care providers.
- Co-sponsor the training with a local child care resource and referral agency, an early childhood education organization, Success by Six, school district, child care coalition or other organization. Having a co-presenter is recommended.
- Ask the attending child care providers to sign a “Child Care Reads” pledge and complete an evaluation of the workshop.
- Distribute the books at the end of the training session. The collections can go to family or center-based child care providers as long as they serve at least three children other than their own. More than one child care provider per daycare/center can attend the training, but only one set of books can go to each site.
- Fill out an evaluation form on the project and return any extra collections of books within one week of the training.
