LiLI eAudiobooks

LiLI eAudiobooks

The Idaho Commission for Libraries is currently offering a demonstration project for downloadable audiodbooks. LiLI eAudioBooks Collection (LiLI-ABC) has been available since October 1, 2007, to all Idahoans.

ICFL coordinates the access to the digital audiobook service to Idaho residents through their public, school, or academic libraries. The project enables library administrators to evaluate:

  • Potential use of ongoing digital audiobook service
  • Technological skills and resources needed for sustainability
  • Library's ability to provide the service on an ongoing basis

eAudiobooks can be downloaded using OCLC's NetLibrary service. The collection of downloadable books includes best sellers, book club favorites, timeless classics, CEV Holy Bible Collection, children's and young adult titles, and the Pimsleur Language Series from Recorded Books.

During the first 12 months of the demonstration project, Idahoans downloaded 49,935 titles. Read more about the success in the LiLI eAudioBooks Collection 1st Year Summary.

eAudio Purchase Program

As part of the agreement with NetLibrary, Idaho libraries have the option to add additional titles from NetLibrary's Purchase Program. Costs for adding those titles are the responsibility of the library making the purchase. Add-on titles will be accessible only to the customers of the library that purchases them. For purchasing information, contact OCLC Western at 800-854-5753.
