This project supports efforts to equalize the services between the existing Kootenai Shoshone Area Libraries and the recently consolidated Post Falls Public Library.
Outreach services are increasing in Post Falls Library's service area to senior living facilities, senior low income apartments and several un-served or underserved medium to small care facilities. Expanding services include Bookmobile stops, lobby stop, specialized readers advisory services, outreach programming and access to library resources.
The contract for the District’s telecommunications provider increases the bandwidth at six facilities and the District is purchasing software, computers, printers and the like to bring all computer systems district-wide up to a common sustainable level.
The equalization improves the service levels and access to collections at all eight libraries for all District residents. Patrons find enhanced collections, shorter routing times, enhanced outreach services, newer technologies, and a coordinated suite of adult and children’s programs.
