ICfL is partnering with the Social Security Administration to help Idahoans keep abreast of their Social Security benefits. Libraries joining the effort can receive free information and publications to help their community be informed about Social Security and Medicare benefits.  Empower your users to create a secure online MySocial Security account to view their Social Security earnings statements, projected retirement, disability, and survivor benefits, and Medicare eligibility.

  • Retirement Benefits: 20 page document gives an overview of Social Security benefits, how they are earned, and how to apply for them.
  • My Social Security: 2 page handout outlines how to create an online account to check personal Social Security benefits.

  • ID Theft: 8 page brochure highlights how to protect your your Social Security number, avoid identity theft,  and what to do if it occurs.
