Five members of the newly formed Mid-Life Adult Advisory Committee (MLAAC) presented at the Annual ILA Conference in Boise this past October. Their presentation Baby Boomers and Beyond focused on library programs and services for the Boomer Generation. Apparently there was alot of interest as it was standing-room only for the one-hour presentation.

Congratulations to the following people, who were recognized at the October 6, 2011 Idaho Library Association’s Annual Conference Awards Banquet and Ceremony for their contributions to Idaho libraries.

Free Workshop on October 5 from 8:30 am to 4 pm at the Boise Centre - provided by the Idaho Commission for Libraries and a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  This is one of three preconferences prior to the Idaho Library Association Annual meeting in Boise.

In the past decade there has been a steady decline in the number of library levy issues passing in elections. George Needham of OCLC in his Keynote presentation to the Idaho Library Association covered 5 ideas to help libraries change their standing in their communities; to encourage more support of those initiatives.

On Wednesday, October 1st, I'm headed to Idaho Falls to attend the Idaho Library Association conference. It looks like there will be a lot of interesting programs and I know I won't be able to attend them all since I haven't mastered cloning myself just yet. So, I have a request for all the readers and users of this site...
