Elegibilidad

Para ser elegible al Servicio de la Biblioteca de Libros Hablados, el solicitante debe:

• Ser legalmente ciego, con una visión en el mejor ojo de 20/200 o menos, utilizando lentes correctivos, o
• Tener campo visual no mayor de 20 grados de diámetro, o
• Estar incapacitado para ver lo suficientemente bien o poseer una incapacidad para enfocar la visión que le impida leer impresiones estándar, aún con lentes correctivos, o
• Estar incapacitado para agarrar libros impresos o pasar las páginas de un libro debido a un impedimento físico, o
• Contar con la certificación de un médico que indique que se tiene una incapacidad debido a una disfunción orgánica que es lo suficientemente severa como para dificultar la lectura de manera tradicional.

La incapacidad puede ser permanente o temporal.

Idaho Commission for the Blind

This organization helps people gain independent living skills by teaching Braille and many life skills. They also sponsor the Radio Reading Service which allows people to hear the Idaho Statesman (in the Boise calling area).
