LSTA 5-Year Evaluation

Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds are Federal funds awarded to the Idaho Commission for Libraries from the Institute of Museum and Library Service (IMLS). With these LSTA funds, the Commission provides programs and services, as well as grant opportunities to eligible Idaho libraries.

    2011 LSTA Competitive Grants Approved

    On February 18th, the Idaho Commission for Libraries Board of Commissioners reviewed and approved the two grant applications submitted in response to the 2011 LSTA Competitive Grant announcement. Due to the fact the Federal Government is currently operating under a Continuing Resolution, the final award of these grants is  contingent on the Commission receiving their full LSTA aw

    Urgent! Public Libraries Must Respond by July 2 to be part of the BTOP Candidate Pool

    All public library directors should have received an e-mail last Friday addressing the candidate pool for our Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) grant proposal. Over the spring we’ve heard from a number of libraries that their reported connectivity speed is incorrect.

    Districting Projects

    Districting projects demonstrate to the community what a well funded library might look like. Projects are specific to the library and focus on patron benefit, improving such things as the library's collection, public access computing, increased hours of operation, increased staffing as well as other things more specific to the community.

    2010 LSTA Grants Awarded

    On February 19th, the Board of Library Commissioners awarded all five of the 2010 LSTA Competitive Grant applications submitted.
