Hispanic Outreach and Library Activities (HOLA) Group forming
HOLA is a support and learning group facilitated by the ICfL Read to Me program. The group is designed to provide the library community with the opportunity to help develop a statewide initiative on how to better serve Hispanic population in Idaho.

Transforming Life After 50 Fellowship Institute
This last week 18 Idaho public librarians attended a three day institute in Portland, Oregon, which focused on trends and issues of aging such as health, finance and economic security, spirituality, work and service.

ILA session -Teen Programming - Ideas from Ray Lusk
My first session at the ILA conference in Clarkston today was with Ray Lusk from The Madison Library District in Rexburg. He had some fun, creative and engaging ideas for teen programs. He provided lots of ideas and a CD with the materials for us to use. Look for links to some of these soon! (My favorite is Murder Mystery Night - they typically have about 150 teens participate in this program!!

Best Small Library Program Ideas
One of the presenters at the Association for Rural and Small Libraries annual conference was Bill Harmer of the Chelsea District Library – the most recent Best Small Library in America. He presented some of the great and innovative programs they have provided for their community. The ARSL list sent a message letting librarians know the details.
