About Staci Shaw

Staci Shaw has a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and an emphasis in Early Childhood. She taught in the classroom for fifteen years, worked as an elementary mathematics instructional coach for teachers, taught education courses as an adjunct faculty member at BSU and NNU, and worked one-on-one with students with learning disabilities. Staci has been a consultant at the Idaho Commission for Libraries since 2008, and enjoys coordinating early literacy programs, training library staff in the pedagogy of early learning, and helping Idaho libraries reach underserved and at-risk families. Her current work with Idaho’s libraries strives to attain third grade reading proficiency through collaborative community partnerships, and helping libraries develop free kindergarten readiness programs for families with limited preschool options. She serves on the Ready Idaho early learning coalition and the Governor's Early Childhood Advisory Council, and presents on libraries’ role in early learning at the local, state, and national level.
