Public libraries, how would you like $500 to improve your library’s technology? By participating in the second year of the Broadband Toolkit Improvement Program (BTIP), Idaho public libraries can receive $500 to put toward the implementation of their “action items” that are determined through their customized Library Broadband Improvement Plan.
17 libraries completed BTIP last year (July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019) and received $500 toward upgrading their library’s broadband and technology. This year (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020), we have funding for 20 additional libraries to participate in this opportunity.
Slots for BTIP filled up fast last year, so I encourage interested libraries to submit the online BTIP application form as soon as possible. (Even if you sign up now, you’ll still have until June 1, 2020 to complete the Broadband Toolkit and Improvement Plan.)
If you have any questions about BTIP and/or library broadband and technology, please contact me anytime. And if you’re attending the Idaho Library Association Annual Conference in October, consider attending my session “I’ll Take BTIP for $500, Alex: How ICfL’s Broadband Toolkit Improvement Program Can Help Your Library” for more information about BTIP and to hear from some of the libraries that have already completed the program.
