The Library Leadership Advisory Committee (LiLAC) is a collaborative effort between the Idaho Commission for Libraries and the Idaho Library Association. The group started work in 2014 with a mission to foster a culture of leadership throughout the Idaho library community. The committee takes a statewide perspective and works to sponsors leadership development activities for anyone working in any type of library anywhere in the state.

Currently LiLAC is looking for new members to fill several soon-to-be-vacant positions. The commitment is to attend at least three face-to-face meetings in Boise, participate in online meetings as scheduled between the face-to-face meetings, and actively contribute to subcommittee work as identified by the group. The application can be found, along with leadership resources and more information, on the LiLAC webpage . Please apply by March 15, 2019. One-year membership terms start on May 16, 2019 and membership may be renewed for the subsequent year.

LiLAC encourages everyone to apply, regardless of position, library, or geographic location. Travel to in-person meetings is reimbursed for those located more than 50 miles from the meeting location (usually the Boise area). The key to making LiLAC successful is hearing from all the voices in the library community and to do that, a diverse membership is important.
