In Idaho, checking out ebooks from your library can be difficult. Boise Public Library provides access to Overdrive, so if you are lucky enough to live in the Boise Public Library tax district, you have free access to these books. Otherwise, you probably don’t have access to new ebooks or you don’t have access to ebooks at all unless you buy them. Another option can be to obtain an out of district card, which can be relatively spendy depending on where you get them. One of my coworkers recently discovered out of state cards from the Free Library of Philadelphia that are a flat yearly fee of $15 (cheaper than anywhere else I’ve seen, including in Idaho). This card gives you access to the FLP’s ebook collection through Overdrive. Check out that option here: http://libwww.freelibrary.org/register/getcard1.cfm
