Spring into summer and submit your application for the Idaho Libraries’ Futures Camp because we’ve extended the deadline to March 20! We’ve also opened applications up to employees and trustees of ALL Idaho libraries, not just publicly funded ones.
In case you’re still on the fence, here are a few of the spectacular keynote speakers who will be joining us at the Futures Camp:
- Miguel Figueroa, Head of ALA Center for the Future of Libraries
- Rolf Hapel, Distinguished Practitioner in Residence at University of Washington iSchool & Former Director of Aarhus Public Libraries in Denmark
- Angela Hemingway, Executive Director of the Idaho STEM Action Center
- Marcellus Turner, Executive Director and Chief Librarian of The Seattle Public Library
- and more!
Library staff from throughout Idaho will gather at a unique three-day summer camp to dream, envision, and shape the future of libraries. Within the striking new Cruzen-Murray Library on the historic College of Idaho campus in Caldwell, campers will unite to engage with emerging trends and build connections. Campers will be chosen through a competitive application process and related costs to attend and participate will be covered by camp sponsors.
We welcome applications from any employee or trustee of an Idaho library (public, school, academic, and special).
Wednesday, June 12 through Friday, June 14
The College of Idaho, 2112 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell, ID 83605
Because this will be a once-in-a-lifetime summer camp experience creating the future of libraries with inspiring guest speakers, fun hands-on activities, and rich discussions with like-minded colleagues from throughout our state.
This camp is brought to you by the Idaho Commission for Libraries and made possible, in part, by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Idaho STEM Action Center. Please contact me with any questions. We look forward to your application!
