Are you already dreaming of summer? It’s not too soon to plan that getaway — or to apply for a summer internship grant.

The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) is accepting applications from public libraries for a summer intern grant of a $1,000. The deadline to apply is February 26, 2020.

The ICfL piloted the summer intern grant in 2019, with the goal of highlighting the library field as an attractive career option to the next generation of Idaho’s workforce.

ICfL Program Supervisor Randy Kemp said, “Initially, the interns thought the job consisted mostly of shelving books, but after experiencing the work, they understood the depth and breadth of what it takes to run a library — from collection management and program creation, to media relations and community engagement.”
