Happy Tuesday and New Year’s Eve, folks! Can you believe we’ve made it to the end of 2024? Idaho libraries and staff experienced many ups and downs this year. Still, we continue to stick together as a library community and stand by our library values and ethics. Keep up the great work!

To celebrate the end of the year, we are highlighting “A Year Full of Stories: 52 Folk Tales and Legends from All Around the World,” written by Angela McAllister. This enchanting collection is a literary treasure chest divided into 12 chapters, one for each month of the year. Christopher Corr’s vibrant artwork adds an extra layer of magic to each story. Perfect for readers, young and old, it’s a journey through cultures, traditions, and timeless lessons wrapped in the charm of storytelling.

You can find A Year Full of Stories in e-book format in the IDEA by ICfL collection via the Libby or Sora app.

Each tale in the collection aligns with festivals, holidays, and seasonal themes from various cultures. Whether it’s a Chinese New Year story, “King of the Forest,” or a tale of Yom Kippur, “Jonah and the Whale,” this book is a fantastic way to explore the world from the comfort of your favorite reading nook. The stories are brief yet rich in detail, perfect for bedtime, classroom discussions, or a quick afternoon escape. McAllister’s storytelling is captivating for children and adults, making it an excellent choice for individual or family reading.

We hope you find new and familiar tales in A Year Full of Stories to celebrate 2024 and ring in 2025.

Happy New Year!
