Teen Convening 2025

About the Event

Teen Convening is a two-day conference for public, tribal, and school librarians who work with teens. This year’s event was held on April 8 and 9, 2025, at the Galaxy Event Center in Meridian. The theme for this year’s convening is Youth Choice, Voice, and Leadership.

Event Objectives

After participating in Teen Convening 2025, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify potential opportunities for youth choice, voice, and leadership at their library.
  • Implement ideas connected to youth choice, voice, and leadership when working with teen advisory groups or teen workers at their library.
  • Assess strategies to increase youth choice, voice, and leadership through civic engagement at the library.
  • Understand that all teens can be leaders.

Day 1: April 8, 2025, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Day 2: April 9, 2025, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

General Event Resources

Event Logistics

  • There are a limited number of seats available for this event – 30 spaces are designated for public or tribal library staff, and 30 spaces are designated for school library staff. Only one person per library location may register to attend.
  • Attendees are required to attend both days of the event.
  • Travel costs will be reimbursed for those traveling more than 50 miles to the event, in accordance with the ICfL’s Non-Employee Travel (NET) Guidelines.
  • The ICfL will book hotel rooms for those who are travelling more than 50 miles to the event at the Courtyard by Marriott Boise/West Meridian hotel, which is a short drive from the event venue.
  • A light breakfast and lunch will be provided on both days of the event. Attendees are on their own for dinner. A $25/day dinner stipend will be provided for those traveling more than 50 miles after the event.
