As part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) will receive $161,477 in funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). We are seeking feedback from anyone working in an Idaho library on how to disburse the funds. This funding is to be used to address digital inclusion and related technical support in the context of workforce development and/or broadband availability.
Please share your thoughts with us about the CARES funding via:
- a listening session on Tuesday, April 28 from 2-3 p.m. (MST) via Zoom, https://zoom.us/j/98080090032 or phone in at 1-669-900-9128
- a short form found at https://forms.gle/1d1JZURzB1uFiLst5 — please submit ideas by end-of-day Wednesday, April 29
Also, public libraries have another way to secure funds for their broadband needs by participating in the ICfL’s Broadband Toolkit Improvement Program (BTIP). This is a great first step to assess your library’s broadband and infrastructure needs. Your library can receive $500 to put toward the implementation of “action items” determined through this Broadband Improvement Plan. See https://libraries.idaho.gov//broadband/btip/ for more information about BTIP.
We appreciate and value your feedback!
