As public entities, most libraries may not advocate for political issues. Libraries also have a mission to provide accurate information for voters. Difficulties arise when a library is seeking increased funding through an election or when political issues affect library policies and procedures. How do you educate when you can’t advocate? We will dive into this topic during January’s LITT: Marketing chat. During the discussion, we will talk about the differences between advocacy and education and how to support front line staff when political issues arise in your community.
