House Bill 194 was signed into law by Governor Brad Little on April 4. This legislation goes into effect on July 1, 2020, updating Idaho Code section 33-2741 regarding Internet Use Policies to require all public libraries in Idaho receiving public money (including EOR state broadband reimbursement funding) to have internet content filtering in place on publicly accessible wireless internet access.

ICfL is investigating methods of providing support (monetary and technical) to help Idaho public libraries comply with the new internet content filtering requirement for public wireless access by July 1, 2020. In order for us to provide the best possible support, we are asking Idaho public libraries to complete this short online survey by May 31.

For more information about current requirements, please see our Technology Guide on Internet Use Compliance & Filtering. And if you have any questions about House Bill 194, internet policies, and/or internet content filtering, please contact your Field Consultant and/or the Broadband Consultant.
