Providing information, training, technical assistance, and resources for Idaho libraries and their community partners. Our vision is for all parents and caregivers to nurture their children's early literacy skills and for all children to develop as independent readers and become lifelong learners.
READ TO ME RESOURCES
Read to Me's public awareness efforts encompass a wide variety of materials and dissemination methods to reach families across Idaho with information about early literacy and library resources. Outreach materials are available for free to Idaho library staff by using our online ORDER FORM or you can fax in your order using our PRINT ORDER FORM. Routes to ReadingThe goal of the new Routes to Reading Program is to significantly increase the amount of reading done in Idaho homes and child care settings. To achieve this goal, ICfL will be using grant and state funds totaling over $300,000 over three years to build three new elements into the successful Read to Me program. |

Every Child Ready to ReadThese Family Workshops involve young children and their parents in learning the early literacy skills in fun-filled ways. |

MY First BooksThe program provides books and library resources for at-risk children. |
|
Idaho Family Reading WeekAn annual statewide celebration of family reading as a great family activity. Local libraries plan a variety of events to reinforce the fun and value of reading. The Commission provides support materials for libraries hosting FRW events. |

Idaho Child Care ReadsLibrarians host early literacy workshops for child care providers. Children's books are provided to those who complete a workshop. |
|
Jump start KindergartenParticipating librarians provide early literacy information and a free book to each child and his/her family during kindergarten registration. |
|
Summer ReadingKids enjoy special programs and reading adventures, and at the same time keep their reading skills sharp for the coming school year. |

YEAR-ROUND UNDERSERVED PROGRAMThis program provides books for libraries that do outreach visits. |

ELL @ Your LibraryWe provide information, training, and resources to Idaho libraries and their community partners to support their efforts to serve English Language learner patrons. |
