Bright By Text is a texting program sponsored by Idaho Public Television (IPTV) geared toward parents/caregivers with children ages 0-8. Libraries can not only promote this great resource to parents and caregivers, but can use it to promote library events and messaging.

Bright by Text is a free texting program that delivers 3-5 developmentally appropriate, high quality early learning tips to users every week. Offered in English and Spanish, messages are catered to the age of the child. Messages include easy learning tips and activities for busy parents, reminders about health checkups, and more – all from high quality sources.

Additionally, this program can include localized content sent to the user by their zip code. If organizations (such as libraries) have early learning events/resources/activities that they’d like to promote statewide or to a localized group of parents/caregivers, they can reach out to Florina Ruvio at IPTV. Simply fill out this form. BBT asks for two weeks of notice to allow time to receive, translate (into Spanish if needed), and process.

Consider using this service for summer reading information, early learning events, library card sign-up information, family events, and more!
