The ICfL is once again partnering with the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation to offer free state park passes to Idaho libraries hosting summer reading programs. The Youth Explorer Passes from Idaho State Parks will waive the entry fee for one vehicle for one day to any Idaho state park. The passes are meant to encourage Idaho youth to explore our state parks, so a child must be present when the pass is used.  New this year: encourage families to tag their social media posts and photos with #youthexplorerpass2024.

The passes may be used for summer reading in a variety of ways: distribute when children sign up for summer reading, give out as prizes for summer reading, or take to outreach events.

The passes do not expire, and they are identical from year to year. If you have leftover passes from last year, you can give those out this year. You can also order more!

Please note: passes are only available to public and tribal libraries. Other libraries (including school libraries) are encouraged to partner with a public library partner to access passes.
