It is my pleasure to announce that the new Continuing Education (CE) consultant for the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) is Annie Gaines.

Annie joins us from the Nevada State Library where she supported continuing educational efforts for the state. She will join the ICfL Library Development team and will oversee continuing education grants, trainings, and other learning opportunities.

Some of you might recognize Annie’s name – for four years, she worked as the scholarly communications librarian at the University of Idaho. Like so many of us in the library field, Annie began her library adventures working as a page in a small public library in Oregon. She received a Masters in Library and Information Science from Drexel University. Annie was named a Mover & Shaker by “Library Journal” in 2017 and an American Library Association’s Emerging Leader in 2014.

We are excited about the unique range of experiences Annie will bring to our team, having worked in a variety of libraries on numerous types of projects and services. This from Annie, “I’m very happy to be back in Idaho and beyond thrilled to join the wonderful team at the ICfL in their important work. It’s a privilege to serve libraries and librarians and I am honored to be here.”
